Volunteer Opportunities at Rainbow
Ministries
My Significant Other, David Millican, and I have been
operating Rainbow Ministries for all
these years, and lo-o-oving it! However, we can't keep up with
the work anymore and we'd like to tell you about a few areas where we would
benefit from regular volunteer assistance. But first, we'd like to
tell you about the different ways in which we thank our volunteers!
Our Ways of Saying "Thank You"
We thank our volunteers with free admission to Rainbow Experiences and
gifts from our growing product line,
which now includes:
- 12 sets of Daily Guides (each set of
28–31 is printed on large paper with large, easy-to-read words, in full
color, no less! The pages are laid out the same way they will
be in the book, but the book will be smaller and in black-and-white only, of
course.)
- Celebrate
Life! CD.
- God's
Cricket Choir CD.
- Meditations CD.
Volunteer Opportunities
Here are tasks on which we need assistance:
- CUT PAPER STARS. If you have ever been to a Rainbow Revival,
you know that Rainbow uses hundreds of paper stars, cut from colored paper.
If you are good with your hands and enjoy repetitive work where you can sort
of "zone out" in a partially meditative state, you might enjoy
cutting some paper stars for us.
- MAINTAIN ONLINE CALENDAR. We are not typically able to post events in our online calendar
and a volunteer could serve the entire Rainbow community by keeping the
online calendar current. Requirements: you should be
computer literate and Internet literate, skilled with your browser, good
with instructions, and comfortable with somewhat tedious, detail-oriented
work. This job is not for everyone, but it's a great opportunity for
the right person to make a positive contribution to the lives of many, many
people. You would probably spend zero to two hours a week on the
calendar.
- MAKE PHONE CALLS. We have found that one of the most effective ways to get the
word out about upcoming Rainbow Experiences is to call the people in our
database who are in the area of the event. Fortunately, in the era of
cheap long-distance calling, these calls can be made inexpensively between
phone numbers in North America which one can dial directly. We will of
course happily reimburse your telephone expenses.
- ARRANGE TRAVEL. As you know, Rainbow's work involves extensive travel by air,
train, and bus. Rainbow usually stays with local hostesses at each
location and she seldom needs hotel reservations. However, she is very
much a frequent flyer. If you are a professional travel agent who
would like to work with Rainbow, give her a call at (800) 272-5413.
- HELP DAVID. If you are a computing professional or super-power user who can
help David with tasks such as product search and evaluation, please email
David at dMILL@ATTGlobal.NET.
- SPONSOR SNAIL MAILINGS. We have turned increasingly to email notifications, since they
are so much easier and cheaper than physical mail such as postcards and
letters. However, we have almost 1,000 people in our database for whom
we have physical addresses and no email addresses. You can help us
keep in touch with these people -- plus those who haven't notified us when
they changed their email addresses. (PLEASE NOTIFY US WHEN YOUR
EMAIL ADDRESS CHANGES.) If you have a printing and mailing
business, and you would like to donate postage and/or services, please
contact us. Another way you could help is to sponsor a mailing by
paying the production costs! Help our snail mail friends stay in the
loop!!!
- SPONSOR A RAINBOW EXPERIENCE IN YOUR AREA!
Y'all know there's nothing else quite
like a Rainbow Experience, so if you would like to sponsor

and schedule dates.
Tax Deductible Donations
You may make a donation for a specific project, such as a
snail mailing, or you may simply donate "to the cause." In any
