Power Places in Peru!

Rev. Rainbow traveled to the Sacred Valley of the Incas and Machu Picchu in Peru for nine days in June 2001.  This trip was part of a guided tour by Power Places Tours where Rev. Rainbow joined Dan Milman and other teacher-facilitators with several dozen travelers on an Andean adventure in consciousness and cultures.  The group was at Machu Picchu on the morning of the June solstice.

A trip report follows the pictures.

Pictures

Here is Rev. Rainbow in the Sacred Valley of the Incas.  Note how the mountains soar into the sky at the edge of the valley.  In the background in the middle of the picture, an alpaca with saddle bags stands in the bright sunlight of the high Andes.  Alpacas are one of three types of South American camels, the other two types being the famous llama (pronounced "YAH ma") and the less-well-known vicuņa.

During her week in the Sacred Valley, Rainbow became fast friends with a camel named Yomama Llama who lived near her hotel.  She wanted to bring Yomama back to the States for cultural exchange, but sadly, Peruvian airlines do not permit passengers to bring live camels as carry-on luggage.  The lesson of that experience: love your camels while you can!

Trip Report

Hiking up to the birth canal of the universe, AKA Machu Picchu inundated, surrounded, enfolded me with an energy I have never felt before in this or any other lifetime!  The solstice/eclipse was so totally compelling, I was sure the apus (mountains) and pachamama (earth) were singing to me and cradling me into a new birth!  It was my privilege to lead some Sufi and Native American rituals there at dawn.  Someone told me I need to change my last name from Johnson to Medicine Woman.  I was totally blown away by this, since the person who told me that was Native American.

An Incan Indian has just been elected president for the first time in 500 years since the Spaniards conquered Peru!  Everyone is thrilled and believes that he (Alejandro Toledo) is the incarnation of Pachacutec.  It was an Incan prophesy that Pachacutec would return when the condor of the south (that's them) and the eagle of the north (that's us) unite once again for total peace on earth. They are ecstatic to be emerging from what they call the dark ages.

The indigenous people are totally of the earth and live love like I have never before seen.  They embody Spirit totally as part of their DNA molecules.  When I would buy something from one of them (all artisans), they showered me with gifts of gratitude, hugged and kissed me, and we had tears of love in our eyes.  We have so much to learn from our brothers and sisters all over this magnificent planet of ours!

When I arrived in Miami, I did a revival for an all-Jamaican Unity church there!  They had never experienced a revival before, and the passion, energy, music, and tears, made a delicious Jamaican recipe, never before tasted.

I love you all (y'all) with ever fiber of my being and am so proud and honored to be part of the Global Heart family of Religious Scientists!
