Over the Top in the "Land Down Under"

A report on Rev. Rainbow's 3-week trip to Australia in March 2001 follows the pictures.

Pictures

Here's a marsupial Donna Reed with her joey, who really looks too big to get more than a small part of himself in mama's pouch!  Still, Donna and Joey demonstrate how it's done to Rainbow right before her very eyes!!!

Note that Joey rejects Rainbow's pouch, even though it's got a lot more food in it than Donna's pouch.  Fortunately, Rainbow's feelings aren't hurt in the slightest, and Donna gets some of the food that Joey passed up.  Joey's young.  He'll learn.

Rainbow's koala kin, Karl, seems a bit distracted by Rainbow's gift of eucalyptus leaves and flowers ... ummm good.  Or maybe it's that wonderful shoulder massage?

Or all of the above?  Karl later confessed off camera, "I can't get enough of that Rainbow Love!"

Trip Report

In glorious Australia, I hiked in a rain forest, petted and played with kangaroos, fed koalas, and met hundreds of gorgeous souls hungering and thirsting after what we are teaching. Religious Science has hardly a visible presence in Australia (there is a small study group in Sydney led by a beautiful leader named Karuna). Therefore, I am writing to plant any seeds that perhaps will resonate with some of you who might be moved to go to Paradise Down Under and do the "light work."

Australia has such a gorgeous, laid-back, innocent, non-mask-wearing energy, it brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it. I visited an Aborigine College and the beautiful Aboriginal professor with whom I communed told me that Australia holds you and nurtures you, and it is impossible to wear masks there. The long-overdue reconciliation process between whites and aboriginals has begun in the past few years. Hundreds of thousands of people crossed the Sydney bridge making amends for the past. Aboriginal elders were weeping and so was everyone else -- except the Prime Minister, that is.

The college has such a spectacular method of education, and we could learn much from emulating it. They teach Aboriginal wisdom and a new skill to Aboriginal college students for one week, and then send them back to their communities to incorporate that skill and wisdom into their villages and cities for 5 weeks. Then, they come back to Sydney to the college to learn the next level of skill and wisdom. This goes on for 2 years, when they receive a special college degree. WOW!

I had an amazing experience while there that has never before happened to me. I was presenting an all-day workshop to the Sydney Theosophical Society, when all at once an elderly (late 80's) woman came in and asked for Rainbow. "I know if I can just touch her I'll be healed!!!" She knew nothing about me, but just heard my name mentioned at a Unity church that morning, and loves rainbows. Go figure. She was pale and bent over, and her name was Dorothy. I took her into a small room, listened for a while, and then did a spiritual mind treatment. However, this was the remarkable difference. After every line of the treatment, she enthusiastically repeated each word like a cheerleader with humungus conviction. For example, when I said, "There is only one Power, and that Power is God," she would echo fortissimo "THERE IS ONLY ONE POWER" etc. The long and short of it is -- after the end of the treatment, I opened my eyes, and there I beheld a much younger Dorothy, sitting upright and sparkling. When she went into the main room, people kept asking her, "What happened to YOU? You look 20 years younger!"

By your faith you are healed!
